The right gear will help you have a great trip.  You don't have to spend a lot of money because you might have a lot of these items already.  Gear can be purchased at places like Dick’s Sporting Goods, REI, Backcountry.com, TJ Maxx, Marshals, Goodwill, Salvation Army, Steepandcheap.com, Eddie Bauer, and many online retailers.

You don’t need the most expensive jackets, pants, headlamps, rain gear, shoes etc. but you also want to stay away the cheapest stuff. Things you buy might come back with a burn hole from the fire, or a rip or tear from a tree limb.  Think about what you are buying, what you are going to use it for and if you think you might ever use it again.  We hope this trip makes you want to spend more time in the outdoors, and the BWCA but you don’t need $2,000 worth of gear to make it a good time.
